The Social Welfare Course is seeking "students who are committed to the concept of a welfare mind and who believe they can play a role in the happiness of others". In other words, the course is designed for students who desire to become people who (1) can think and act in order to support the independence of various types of people who have trouble in life, and (2) have an interest in social welfare and can make an effort to become social workers, care welfare workers, or psychiatric social workers.
Therefore, the course is looking for students who have the above mentioned qualities along with a healthy mind and body, the ability to communicate with others, and basic scholastic achievements.

Department of Social Welfare, Care Welfare Major

Care giving and welfare-related workers have the characteristic of supporting others, while at the same time being supported by others. People who have the mental disposition to keep learning with a humble spirit find that care giving and welfare-related work are superb occupations through which one can continue to grow as a human being. The Care Welfare Major requires that students take the national examinations for Care Welfare Worker and Social Worker certification before graduation.
Therefore, the program is searching for students who can make the effort and have the will and power to be diligent in their examination preparations.
In particular, the Care Welfare Major is designed for students who (1) are healthy in mind and body, (2) have the will and aptitude to become care welfare workers and social workers, (3) can communicate with others (can maintain a positive and warm interest in others and, even if not a good communicator, must be a good listener), (4) possess basic scholastic achievements, and (5) have a self-reliant lifestyle (can clean, wash clothes, and cook for oneself).

Psychology and Welfare Major

The Psychology Welfare Course aims at fostering talented young people who, on the basis of the school motto "shaga-shojin", can make alliances with local welfare organizations and relevant personnel, while possessing skills in psychology to contribute to the local community. Therefore, the course is looking for students with the positive potential to become specialized personnel who can help support the establishment of a welfare-based society.
Students selected will be those who clearly have the motivation to become specialists in welfare and psychology. Student who do not possess strong motivation, but who can be expected to develop their skills based on their enthusiasm will also be eligible for selection. As an outline of eligibility for the course, students should (1) be passionate about enrolling in the course and have an understanding of our educational content and policy, while also having strong motivation to put to use the knowledge they gain in the course in their future jobs, (2) have the ability to communicate in a way that sympathizes with the feelings of others, and (3) be friendly and considerate, possessing warm hearts.

Department of Child Educate and Child Development, Child Educare and Child Development Major

The Child Educare and Child Development Course aims at cultivating talented young people who, on the basis of the school motto "shaga-shojin", can contribute to the local and international communities as childcare workers. Therefore, the course is looking for students who have a clear view of society overall and can develop into specialized personnel who can play a valuable role in nursing and childcare support in society.
As an outline of eligibility for the course, students should (1) be clearly motivated on becoming childcare professionals and have the enthusiasm and positive potential to develop their skills, (2) have an understanding of our educational content and policy, while also having strong motivation to put to use the knowledge they learn in the course in their future jobs, and (3) have the ability to communicate in a way that expresses an understanding toward the feelings of others. More than anything, however, students should be friendly and considerate, possessing warm hearts.
