Nurturing Welfare Professionals (Social Workers and Psychiatric Social Workers) who Can Work to Support the Happiness of Others.
The type of welfare required for the 21st century is welfare that can precisely meet the welfare needs of diverse individuals, while respecting human dignity. The Social Welfare Major provided by the Social Welfare Course aims at nurturing talented young people who possess expert knowledge and techniques to flexibly respond to various welfare needs and deeply respect the human dignity of each individual person.
In particular, the major is intended to foster highly-skilled professionals who can carry out consultations and assistance activities to support the direct resolution of daily life problems, while contributing to the management (administration and operation) in welfare administration and welfare facilities, as well as in the welfare fields of companies. Graduates of the program will obtain expertise in various areas including child welfare, elderly care, low-income welfare, community welfare, medical welfare, and mental health welfare.
Students will acquire this type of specialization as social workers in their 4 years of study, and students who obtain the required amount of credits to graduate are granted degrees (bachelor's degree in social welfare).

Cultivating Care-giving and Welfare Professionals (Care Workers and Social Workers) who Possess a Combination of Expertise, Knowledge, and Techniques, while Fostering a Wide Range of Know-how, Humanity, and the Human View Required of Care Workers.
The Care Welfare Major aims at nurturing talented young people who can be active in a wide range of care-giving and social welfare fields. The major simultaneously cultivates care workers who can self-determinately ensure the quality of life and dignity of care service users as well as social workers who have the ability to respond to various welfare needs.
In particular, the major is intended to nurture highly-skilled professionals who possess care-giving expertise to support the independent lives of the elderly and disabled, while being equipped with the ability to cooperate in and coordinate consultations and assistance activities in their relevant areas of expertise so that they can contribute to the field of welfare. Graduates of the program will acquire the skills to provide various types of care including livelihood support, facility care, home care, dementia care, terminal care, rehabilitation, and preventive care.
As a result, students spend 4 years acquiring practical knowledge based on the concept of a welfare mind. Students who obtain the required amount of credits to graduate are granted degrees (bachelor's degree in social welfare).

Department of Psychology and Welfare, Psychology and Welfare Major
Fostering Welfare Professionals who Are Equipped with Expertise in Psychology and Can Contribute to the Welfare and Educational Fields.
The Psychology Welfare Course aims at cultivating talented young people based on the school motto of "shaga-shojin" who can contribute to a wide range of welfare related fields. Students acquire expertise in support techniques and a deep knowledge of psychology as a foundation of social welfare in order to support the resolution of human relationship problems as well as the various welfare problems that exist in the local community, educational institutions, and companies.
Students spend 4 years acquiring specialization in both social welfare and psychology, nurturing a welfare mind so that they can cooperate with and coordinate in the activities of local welfare organizations, educational institutions, and administrative agencies. Students who have cultivated their talents for contributing to a wide range of welfare related fields are granted degrees (bachelor's degree in social welfare).
